Stellar Kart- We Can't Stand Sitting Down (2006)

Christian rock band Stellar Kart offers this clear and concise message for the world today: there is a purpose in our lives, and to fulfill it you must give God control and start moving as soon as possible.

We Can't Stand Sitting Down opens up with the fast paced, whirlwind lyrics of "Procrastinating." It transfers smoothly into the equally fast paced "Activate," whose name should indicate the message. "Don't talk, 'cause words are really cheap. You'll never start a revolution in your sleep." These lyrics ring true for a good percentage of the world today, as we try to cause change through our complacency.

The third track, "Me and Jesus," is a bit slower than the two previous songs, but it will blow listeners away nonetheless with its irreplaceable message of unconditional love. Similarly, "Hold On" seems slow next to its predecessors, but its comforting lyrics will draw listeners in. "If the stars don't shine tonight, if tomorrow forgets the light, hold on, hold on to me."

Track seven dares to touch on a sensitive subject - misunderstandings between parents who push too hard and the kids who think they can never be good enough. "Only Wanted" is told from the point of view of the parent trying to explain that they were only trying to raise their child to do more than they could ever hope to do in their lives, and expressing their worries from the results of their failures. "I tried to raise you the best I know, now there's only one thing I can hope, you don't end up just like me."

"Finding Out" is an immensely catchy song about the everlasting and unconditional love of God, which can change the way that we can look at ourselves.

Slow and memorable, "Wishes and Dreams" carries the promise of true friendship and love. The chorus will follow listeners to sleep along with its lulling sound. "I'll be the one who makes you laugh, make up for the memories that made you sad. Me and you together, forever, we could be. Someday you will find me in all your wishes and dreams."

Back on the fast paced, "I'm Pretty Good" encourages us to get on the fast track and get on beyond the life we have. "All I know for sure is that so much more than what I'm living for. There's so much more. If I could step outside this sordid merry life, find what I'm waiting for, there's so much more."

The guitar driven "I Wanna Live" pushes listeners to long to live. Then the acoustic, "Angels is Chorus" encourages us to share the Word with the world and allow God to use us to reach His people. This final song is beautiful and wonderfully done.

Helen Keller once said, "Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing." It appears Stellar Kart agrees.
